â–¶ Who is on the Council?
Each Council chair represents an aspect of Odelia, providing a voice for the different people that comprise it. The Council brings the wishes of its citizens to the Regent and alerts them to its grievances and needs so they may be addressed. The seats are currently represented by members of the guard, nobility, merchants, religious sects.

â–¶ How does one gain a seat to the Council?
-
Initial placement is at the pleasure of the Regent who offers the position to Citizens who have proven their worth to the Kingdom
-
You may challenge a current seat holder for their position.
-
Characters must be able to present as humanoid and speak in common tongue while being a Citizen of good standing in Odelia. Keep in mind the Regent must accept the challenger who seeks to replace the advisor.
-
Challenges are settled with a vote by the general populace. Citizens can begin voting ten (10)hours within the Challenge announcement and both candidates have five (5) days thereafter to gather votes.
-
-
If a member of the Council fails to meet the Regent’s expectations they have ultimate authority to replace a member at their pleasure.
-
One warning must be issued from the Regent before the seat can be opened for replacement
-

â–¶ How does one get access to the Council?
-
Any Odelian Citizen may present a request during Open Court Sessions before the Regent and their Council. The Council will make itself available for Open Court sessions on a monthly basis. Please contact your Kingdom Lead with any questions.
-
The Council is designed to be a representative of their peers, as such each member should be accessible through role play.
â–¶ What does the Council do? And how often do they meet?
â•‘Discuss Kingdom Concernsâ•‘
Kingdom politics are a sensitive game and it is the Council's responsibility to be three steps ahead of their allies and enemies. The Council advises the Regent on External Kingdom and internal Kingdom concerns:
-
External Kingdom Concerns include political alliances, trade, and war.
-
Internal Kingdom Concerns include famine, infrastructure, and law amendments.
-
Open Court Sessions.
â•‘Delegation of Kingdom Concerns to ensure proper Leadership Oversightâ•‘
The Regent will delegate Kingdom Concerns to their Advisors ensuring proper and prompt leadership is given to any Concern raised. The goal is to have the best person for the job leading the role-play and engaging the populace.
â•‘Laws of Odelia and Amendmentsâ•‘
Laws are living, breathing documents. We understand that over time roleplay will change things and will adjust accordingly. Keep in mind: Arrestable offenses and repeat offenders will be discussed amongst council members. Be good!
â•‘Meetingâ•‘
Open Court with the Council scheduled will be publicized.
The Council will meet as needed to address matters of importance. The Council meetings will be closed scenes and not open for general public roleplay.
â–¶ Responsibilities of the Council:
Council members are there to serve as the Regent’s Advisors. They are the voice of the people, if they fail to be in touch with their community, are tardy to meetings, or fail to uphold their delegated duties the Regent may issue a warning. After a warning, Council Members are given 10 days to adjust behavior. Please keep in mind council members need to be active and available not just to attend meetings but to be there for their people. Each advisor has their own responsibilities and tasks for their region.
(e.g., Issue amongst the merchant population? Will need to be handled and RPed out via the merchant representative who should reach out to the guard representative for additional muscle if the problem becomes violent.)
